Well for the last two nights i’ve stayed up and watched spike for hours, both nights expecting to see info on Valves newest game, Portal 2 and updates and info on Valves Left 4 Dead series. I missed it., watching for nearly 5 hours tonight it never came on for me, but thats ok!

Xfire Sold to New Owners

EDIT: Xfire has been acquired by Titan Gaming, who are taking on the Xfire name. Here is the announcement: “Titan Gaming has purchased Xfire. The terms of the purchase are undisclosed. Titan will be taking on the Xfire name. The Xfire services will continue uninterrupted for its users. Xfire redefined how gamers communicate, Titan intends to build upon this tradition and utilize the Xfire platform to help gaming companies better engage and monetize their games.”

The popular in-game instant messenger known as Xfire has been sold today to an undisclosed company. It was previously owned by Viacom Inc., the conglomerate in charge of MTV Networks, Gametrailers, and Paramount. Viacom acquired Xfire in 2006 for over $100 million. While it is currently not known who Xfire’s buyers are, we all wait in anticipation to find out who they are and what their plans for the service are. We hope that they will be good corporate overlords for a service that PC gamers around the world have come to know and love.  (more…)

Valve released Day of Defeat Source today, while I was surprised to see DoD ported I was hoping for Left 4 Dead 2 its good to see they didn’t forget about porting these for us tho!

Review: Torchlight

We’re here with another community feature from Gamer9er on Torchlight enjoy!

Torchlight is a well-known RPG for all you steam users out there. On day 7 of Perils of Summer, I picked up torchlight off the shelves. Now I’m not really an RPG kinda guy, I’ve loved first person shooters my whole life. This was a whole new experience for me. So I’m going to do a quick and easy review on Torchlight.

Portal 2 for Mac CONFIRMED!

Yes you heard me right, the anticipated sequel to Valve’s Portal on now confirmed to be released for Mac OSX by GameInformer! Mac gamers rejoice as we finally get out piece of the cake!

EDIT: Also confirmed by Hardcore is that Steam OSX will be released sometime in May. Even better news for mac gamers.

Valve teases us…

At this point there’s no denying that Valve may soon have Steam available to Mac Users. The first piece of evidence was when its PC users discovered files and icons referring to an OSX version in the Beta UI update. Valve never had a comment of denying this. A few days later, look what we have here…
