Should I buy a Xbox 360?
Basically I’m wondering if I should buy an Xbox 360 for a few reasons, I have always been a big fan of Halo since the first, and it clearly isn’t ever moving back to the PC or anything, and I might get a number of other games, Super StreetFighter 4, Black Light Tango Down, and to play with my brother in law and of corse all of you guys who have Xbox Live.
So the question in turn is this, is what I have to look forward to above, worth the cost of the system, Xbox Live, and likely $150 in games atleast.
Please answer in the comments below i’d really like to get some feedback on this, Thanks!

hmm, xbox definetly has all the games. if a game will be released exclusive to a platform it is often Xbox (well, indie games go to PC).
I don’t personally use it that much since i prefer PC over Xbox. controls are easier on PC and a much better community. On modern warfare i often come across unsavory people and there is no option to get rid of them other than mute.
I find PC to have a much better interface and steam has many more deals. i would only recommend xbox if you want games like God of War and Halo REALLY bad
I think you should. Xbox has many more games than PC does, and if your really into the Halo series you definitely need an xbox. Just be ready to spend alot of money, xbox live could cost you an extra $100 or more. Also, xbox is working on a new project or something, it might be worth waiting for it to come out.
the new project you are thinking about is Kinect. Kinect is an interactive gaming accessory which seems to be a very revolutionary device. We saw a similar item before on a console, most notably the PS2 (eyetoy).
If you strongly want to play Halo and if your brother in law’s not getting a PS3, probably get an xbox. Be sure to get yourself one of the newer models unless you like opening up your xbox to fix the RROD.
Super Street Fighter IV wasn’t mean on the xbox 360 controller so that’s a game you might want to play on the PS3 (also because I’ll let you kick my ass for free online.
). The xbox d-pad is very inaccurate so you’ll constantly mess up QCF and DP movements and the deep triggers may be uncomfortable for executing heavy kicks. If you want to chip in for a $150 dollar arcade stick (or build one out of a wooden box & japanese parts for about $80), that probably won’t be a problem for you.
My personal issues about the xbox is that the interface can be annoyingly slow, its Live’s Gold service makes the PS3 a cheaper deal, and the fact that its public community is just generally filled with more immature compared to the PC community. I tend to disable all chat.
If you can live with its setbacks, go get yourself one of its newer models so that you won’t get the RROD and enjoy playing coop w/ your bro.
Well actually i think he means the upgraded Xbox 360 itself that was recently released at E3. Thanks for the suggestions guys keep them coming!
Yes that’d be cool.
Bltd is awesome fun, I’m gonna put a review up when I get back home Monday.
Wait for halo reach if you do.
Also since you have mw2, then wait for black ops.
I say yes but I’d also wait for the fall lineup of games.
Also Russ, god of war is a ps3 exclusive.
And live is 50 a year Jon, not 100.
